Thailand-based cement, chemicals and packaging conglomerate, SCG has revealed strategies to upgrade the cement and construction sector by joining hands with a range of partners to launch the CPAC Construction Solution.
On the manpower front, this entails a goal to create 20 CPAC Solution Centres nationwide and expand the network of local technicians and contractors from 2,000 to 20,000 by 2020.
Additionally, the objective is to not only deliver quality construction work within budgets, but also combine digital technology to help reduce construction waste.
Chana Poomee, Vice President - Cement and Construction Solution Business, SCG Cement and Construction Products Business, (pictured above) said the new solution will help to upgrade the Thai construction industry to be a prosperous society in which all stakeholders throughout the value chain benefit and grow sustainably, including creating a green society.
One of the ways this is being planned is through the CPAC Solution Centre, a center for those in the construction industry from each province to come together to exchange knowledge.
Starting with the opening of the first such centre in Chiang Mai earlier this year, the target is to open nine branches: Khon Kaen, Phitsanulok, Phuket, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Pattaya, Nonthaburi and Nakhon Pathom by the end of 2019, before expanding to 20 branches nationwide by 2020.
