The Access Group completes acquisition of Sage Group’s Asia and Australia businesses 

A provider of business management software to mid-sized organisations, The Access Group has completed the acquisition of Sage Group’s local businesses in Australia and Asia. This includes the company’s EasyPay payroll solution in Singapore, UBS accounting software in Malaysia, and Australian HandiSoft tax and practice management solution for accounting firms, and MicrOpay and WageEasy compliant payroll solutions.

Commenting on the announcement, Chris Bayne, CEO of The Access Group, said: “This latest acquisition supports our regional strategy and focus on delivering solutions that meet the needs of our growing customer base. We welcome Sage Group’s customers, partners and employees into The Access Group.”

Kerry Agiasotis will transition from Sage to become President of The Access Group, Asia Pacific. 

The Access Group will also bring its global SaaS solution, Access Workspace, to the region which connects payroll, finance, HR and digital learning applications to one platform.


Globalization Partners set to ramp up hiring in line with revenue expectations

Employer-of-record solution provider Globalization Partners, has announced that it is on track to meet its forecasted 2021 new customer acquisition goal by 130% as well as exceed its revenue projections, with a forecast of more than USD$1bn in annualised recurring revenue (ARR) by the end of 2021.

As such, it is looking to hire 150 internal employees per month in the second half of 2021 and beyond.

Refyne raises US$20.1mn funding; introduces earned wage access solution in India

India’s first earned wage access (EWA) solution for companies, Refyne, has closed funding of US$20.1mn from XYZ Capital, partners of DST Global, and more. 

The company is known for its plug-and-play software that enables employees to access their real-time earned salary. Employees can withdraw this amount using Refyne’s app at any point before their payday. The financial wellness solution is free for organisations and integrates with existing HRMS and ERP services.

Speaking on the funds raised, Chitresh Sharma, CEO and Co-Founder, commented, “We are delighted to be supported by some amazing investor partners in our journey. While we are aware of the responsibilities on our shoulders, having amazing stakeholders onboard helps us move faster and stronger."

The funding will be deployed to expand the technology team and scale growth initiatives.

In the past five months, Refyne has partnered with almost 100 companies with over 300,000 employees in India and plans to cover more than 1mn workers this financial year.


Logitech introduces collaborative whiteboard solution for hybrid offices

Logitech has launched Logitech Scribe, an AI-powered whiteboard camera, which is compatible with services like Microsoft Teams and Zoom, which broadcasts whiteboard content into video meetings with clarity, virtually transporting everyone into the same room.

Through this solution, poised for hybrid offices as well as classrooms, in-room participants can begin sharing whiteboard content into video meetings by pressing the wireless button included with Scribe or tapping the meeting room touch controller, like Logitech Tap. The wireless button currently works with Zoom Rooms, and support for Teams Rooms will come later this year. Scribe also works as a USB content camera with video conferencing applications.

Bryan Lee, Head of Video Collaboration, Logitech Southeast Asia, spoke on the development: "Logitech Scribe closes the virtual and physical gap for meetings and lessons, allowing one to simply pick up a marker and draw on the whiteboard, facilitating an engaging environment to improve collaboration and enhance the learning experience."

Among its many features, using built-in AI, Scribe can render the presenter transparent, so remote users can see the whiteboard with nothing in the way, and automatically enhances the colour of markers so the content is easier to read. It can also detect other non-digital content like Post-its.

Logitech Scribe is currently available in Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam, and will be available in Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand, starting 6 August 2021. Prices start at US$1,199.
