In these unprecedented times, there's no doubt that HR has been crucial in supporting business continuity and keeping employees safe, healthy, and productive.
Ever since Singapore entered the circuit breaker, and employees were forced to work from home, it has been a necessity to move certain processes virtual. A survey by Kerry Consulting found that the adoption of e-onboarding and e-exit has been very popular during the circuit breaker, with 83% of respondents following clear processes along with the use of video calls and other specific e-practices whenever possible.
According to the 650 HR senior professionals surveyed, key success factors of e-onboarding and e-exit included using video calls where possible, pre-first day conversations for onboarding, and strict protocols on systems access and hardware returns for e-exits.
Apart from onboarding and offboarding, HR teams have also taken their engagement initiatives virtual, with team-building through digital social hangout spaces, e-learning campaigns, online feedback channels, and wellness webinars among the slew of initiatives used.
The survey also revealed the top challenges faced by HR leaders during COVID-19, the pandemic's impact on compensation, hiring plans, as well as 10 emerging in-demand roles, with key findings summarised in the infographic below.
